STICK MARSH, FARM 13

LODGING POSSIBILITIES

Sandrift Motel Sebastian US 1 in Sebastian, 30 min from the ramp
Sandrift in Sebastian. ON US 1 by the hospital. Easy drive south on US 1 a mile and then west on SR 512 west to Fellsmere road going east. Basic stuff, but a nice staff, clean enough for a fishing trip, large areas to park and turn, kitchenette, safe surroundings and a few boat plugs, plus a swimming pool that feels good upon returning. Has a decent old style Florida Restuarant adjecant to it called Marker 1.
Jameson Inn Palm Bay 321-725-2952 30 minutes from the Stick Marsh; On Palm Bay Rd., east of I-95 at Exit 176.
This is the ‘best bet’. It is new, nice and close to many eating places and a Wal-Mart Super Center. This is the place if you bring a lady. It has outside plugs for battery charging at the base of some of the parking lot light poles.
Howard Johnson Melbourne 321-768-8439 35 minutes from the Stick Marsh East on Highway 192 (New Haven Avenue) at I-95
Courtyard by Marriott Melbourne 321-724-6400 35 minutes from the Stick Marsh East on Highway 192 (New Haven Avenue), 1.5 miles east of I-95

The Motel 6 (Malabar Rd.) and the Ramada Inn (US Hwy. 1) in Palm Bay are not recommended due to undesirable activity. (The Ramada mentioned changes names quite often; so, just avoid the one Motel on US 1 in Palm Bay).

All major chains have units at the Vero Beach I-95 intersection (just south of Fellsmere) and about 20 minutes away from the ramp. This is an excellent location to stay. Jameson Inn, Best Western, Holiday Inn Express, etc. Lots of places to eat, a few nice Malls, good parking. Look in your Yellow Pages for toll-free numbers for the hotel/motel chains.

- Most of the above have good boat parking, except the beachside places. The Jameson Inn has some outside electrical outlets for boat battery charging. Always try to get a ground floor room so you can park the boat in front and run a cord to charge batteries.

A common question that we get: "Is there somewhere close to get bait and tackle?" This is where we get our bait.
